Negreira affair, new episode. This morning, the Spanish press published the content of the conclusions made by Real Madrid in this matter. The Merengue club is one of the most active players against FC Barcelona and today we clearly learn that Casa Blanca is accusing its great rival of sporting corruption.
“In view of the general trend that emerged from the statements of the referees and former referees, it appeared that the system of control and evaluation of the referees’ performances, in which Mr. Enríquez Negreira played a particular role, was arbitrary and perverted, the promotion and professional career of the referees depending solely on the will of those in charge of the CTA. Certainly, the incriminating elements which already existed when the order of 14/3/2024 was pronounced (the payments of several millions from FC Barcelona to the vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees and their total lack of justification, among others), as well as various other elements which were added as the police investigation progressed, amply justify the continuation of the present procedure according to the terms of the abbreviated procedure, and undoubtedly make it possible to highlight continued behavior of sporting corruption, of criminal origin and attributable to all persons subject to investigation”we can read in the document that Real Madrid gave to justice.
