Injuries are piling up at Bayern Munich, which is going through a particularly complicated period on a physical level. After the draw conceded against Borussia Dortmund (2-2), the Bavarian club learned two additional bad news with the injuries of Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry. The first suffers from a rupture of the syndesmotic ligament in his right ankle and has already undergone successful surgery. According to information from the local press, the Moroccan midfielder could be away from the field for at least three months.
For his part, Serge Gnabry suffers from a muscle tear in the back of his left thigh. The German international is expected to miss between four and six weeks of competition. These two new packages are added to those of Luis Díaz, injured in the left thigh, and Jamal Musiala, victim of a muscle tear in the right thigh. The participation of Michael Olise, also injured during the Klassiker, also remains uncertain for the next European meeting due to problems with his right knee.
Bayern Munich wants to save for a big arrival in 2027
This offensive massacre could logically push Munich leaders to review their plans for the winter transfer window. However, the tendency would rather be towards inaction. According to BildBayern does not intend to recruit in January, despite the financial means at its disposal. The Chairman of the Board of Directors Jan-Christian Dreesen also ruled out this possibility, while Max Eberl recalled: “we don’t even know the exam results yet. Lucho Díaz returns, Jamal returns. It’s not like five players are going to be out for six months. No, I don’t think (that we will recruit)”.
Image generation in progress
Internally, the German club hopes to recover Gnabry, Musiala and Díaz for the resumption of the championship, scheduled for early January against Mönchengladbach. Only Saibari is expected to be missing for a longer period. The leaders therefore prefer to conserve their resources for the 2027 summer transfer window, with at least one costly offensive arrival envisaged. In the meantime, interim coach Aaron Danks will have to find solutions internally, in particular by giving more responsibilities to young Lennart Karl.
