The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) is preparing to recognize a refereeing error on an action involving Kylian Mbappé during the La Liga match against Girona (1-1). According to the Spanish press, the body now believes that a penalty should have been awarded to the French striker at the end of the match, despite internal debates around the intervention of VAR and the initial assessment of referee Alberola Rojas. The captain of the Blues ended up bleeding after this contentious action, he who also shared his face on Instagram. He will play against Bayern with a big bandage.

This decision comes in a particular context, since it is the same Alberola Rojas who was appointed to referee the Copa del Rey final between Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad. An appointment which sparked controversy on social networks, especially since this acknowledgment of error by the CTA fuels discussions around arbitration in Spain in the run-up to this final.
