OM management announced this Thursday that Frank McCourt would hold a press conference on Friday morning. Suspense…

There is plenty of news at the end of the season for OM. This week, a record deficit under the McCourt era was announced – almost 105 million euros loss for the 2024-2025 financial year. This came at almost the same time as the official reveal of the club’s new logo, Wednesday evening, as part of the charity gala of the Treizième Homme organization.

But OM has not finished making important announcements in this gloomy spring for the moment in terms of sporting results. While Habib Beye’s team lost its place on the podium recently by successively losing to Lille and Monaco, the prospect of a next season without the Champions League appears catastrophic for the Marseille institution. And it is in this anxiety-provoking context that Frank McCourt will speak.

This Thursday, the club’s communications unit announced the American boss’ upcoming press conference. A rare appearance in front of the media scheduled for Friday morning from 11 a.m., at the Vélodrome stadium. On the other hand, nothing of the content of the said conference has leaked until now. So the machine of fantasies and rumors has already been launched.

New partners on the horizon?

The most likely obviously concerns the governance of the OM structure while Alban Juster was recently appointed to take over from Pablo Longoria – provisionally of course. In an interview given a few days ago, Frank McCourt confirmed that Medhi Benatia would leave his role as sporting director at the end of this financial year. It is therefore in total uncertainty that the Olympians have moved forward in recent weeks. Including on the field itself since the future of Habib Beye will depend not only on the verdict at the end of the season, but also probably on the identity of the future president and sporting director.

The Boston owner of OM could finally make an official decision on the expected reinforcement of new partners and investors. “ I think it’s time to start this process because I really want Marseille to go to the next levelhe confided in the columns of the Journal du Dimanche recently. The next level, and hopefully the highest level, will require additional investment. We want to find the right strategic partner to make this happen. It is still too early to say more, we are thinking, we are organizing, but we are in this state of mind. » Perhaps the time has come…
