According to a classification developed by A.S.Lois Openda is currently the fastest player in the Champions League with a top speed of 36.2 km/h in the colors of Juventus. Just behind him, we find Aubameyang (35.8 km/h) from OM, while the other Marseillais, Timothy Weah (34.3 km/h), is in 10th position. Jérémie Frimpong (35.6 km/h) of Liverpool, Karim Adeyemi (35.4 km/h) of Dortmund and Raoul Bellanova (35 km/h) of Atalanta complete the top 5. Bradley Barcola (35 km/h) of PSG is 6th, Pedro Neto (34.9 km/h) of Chelsea is 7th, Djed Spence (34.5 km/h) from Tottenham is 8th. The star of Portugal and PSG, Nuno Mendes (34.4 km/h) ranks in 9th position. We therefore note the presence of 2 Marseillais and 2 Parisians in this top 10, but curiously, Kylian Mbappé does not appear there.

As for the other players, Mason Greenwood from Marseille is currently in 13th position with a maximum speed of 34.3 km/h, tied with his teammate Timothy Weah. This ranking concerns young and rising profiles like Openda, Barcola and Adeyemi. In a football where speed remains one of the most important abilities, reaching more than 36 km/h today impresses as much as it did at the time of players like Gareth Bale or Arjen Robben, capable of changing the course of a match in a few seconds thanks to their dazzlingness.
