Maxime Lopez is taking full advantage of his adventure at Paris FC. Born and trained in Marseille, the midfielder quickly turned the page on OM and seems to be flourishing away from the Vélodrome. After a spell in Italy with Sassuolo and Fiorentina, the 27-year-old joined the capital and today asserts himself as a key element of the PFC.
After leading his team from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 last season, Lopez is now captain of the promoted club, currently 8th in Ligue 1. The former OM player does not hesitate to display his Parisian happiness. “It may be shocking as a Marseillais, but I love life here. I met my fiancée there and I feel really good in this club “, he confides to AFP.
“One of my best periods”
On the pitch, he says in one of his best periods since the start of his career: “I am very happy in Paris, very happy with this team. It's been a long time since I've been so happy to arrive at training in the morning. On the pitch, it's perhaps one of my best periods since I've been playing football, I feel really strong, really efficient. »
His development also involves that of his teammates. With his brother Julien Lopez and Ilan Kebbal, also from Marseille, he composes a trio which is already making waves. “It’s an incredible destiny. With my brother and Ilan, that makes three guys from Marseille, three players from Burel FC itself, at PFC, who moved up from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 and who are trying to write the history of this club”rejoices Maxime Lopez.
