Real Madrid is no longer undefeated in Liga. Leaders of the Spanish championship after six successes in as many meetings, the men of Xabi Alonso fell for the first time of the season, which is more, on the field of Atlético de Madrid, this Saturday, on the occasion of the 7th day. For this shock against the Colchoneros, the Spanish coach had decided to restart Jude Bellingham in the middle, with Tchouaméni and Valverde. Arda Güler was preferred to Mastantuono to accompany Vinicius and Mbappé in attack. On the opposing side, Antoine Griezmann began the meeting on the bench, Simeone preferring him the duo Sørloth -álvarez for offensive animation.
Pushed by its audience, Atlético jostled a much wait-and-see real and saw its good start to match being rewarded after only a quarter of the game. After a center of Simeone, Robin the Normand took over on Tchouaméni and catapult the ball from the head to the bottom of the Courois nets (14th, 1-0). A short -lived advantage since Real quickly responded, and as often, thanks to Kylian Mbappé. Launched on the back of Lenglet, the number 10 of Real was going to beat Oblak with a cross shot for the equalization … on the first opportunity of the White House (25th, 1-1). Banner, Arda Güler then turned into a scorer, taking up a center of Vinícius Júnior from the fly to give the visitors the advantage (36th, 1-2). Reversed, Atlético nevertheless did not abdicate. If Lenglet saw his goal be refused for one hand (44th), the equalization of Alexander Sorløth, of the head, was well validated (45th+3, 2-2). What conclude a very lively period.
Atlético drops Real Madrid
The second period did not fall into intensity and saw Atlético take over the lead, thanks to a penalty from Julián álvarez (51st, 3-2). The 2022 world champion, triple scorer against the Rayo Vallecano this week, even offered a double after a magnificent free kick, unstoppable for Courtois (63rd, 4-2). The entries of Mastantuono, Camavong and Rodrygo did not change anything at the end of this meeting, which even concluded with the first achievement of Antoine Griezmann, after 22 games without scoring (90th+4, 5-2).
With this slap (5-2), Xabi Alonso therefore knows his first setback with Real, all competitions combined, this season. A result that makes FC Barcelona happy, second, with two points behind. In the event of a victory against Real Sociedad this Sunday, the Blaugranas will lead the Liga. As for Atlético de Madrid, this founding success replaces them in the top 4 of the championship.
The man of the match: Julian Alvarez (8): Under the eyes of Radamel Falcao in the stands, the Argentinian scorer started discreetly before taking importance over the minutes. In a more remote role than that of Sorlow, he feasted by his technical quality and his activity, addressing several dangerous centers in the surface of Real. Without frank opportunities in the game, the Araña took advantage of a penalty (51st) and then a direct free kick to afford a double. His second realization, a perfectly coiled shot of the right foot above the wall, is absolutely sublime. Author of five goals in two games this week, he confirms his excellent form of the moment.
Atlético de Madrid
– Oblak (4): The Slovenian goalkeeper did not commit bourdes, but did not perform miracles either, being helpless in the attempts of Real Madrid players. Too slow to bed, he saw Mbappé scoring in a closed angle from his first attempt (25th). Bis repeat in the 36th minute, when the strike of Arda Güler passes him a few centimeters from the left hand.
– Llorente (5): He took advantage of the first stifling minutes of his team to highlight himself offensively, combining with Barrios and Simeone in the right corridor, but he suffered against Vinicius once Real set foot on the ball. His many errors have prevented him from helping his own on the ground.
– The Normand (5.5): The Spanish international materialized the excellent start of the Colchoneros match. In the surface, he jumped higher than Tchouameni and Militão for Smasher the ball in the cage of Courtois, served by a center of Simeone (14th). He can nevertheless blame himself for having been guilty twice on the action of the second goal Merengue: first by freeing up in the feet of an opponent, then being too easily eliminated by Vinicius during a badly mastered duel with Llorente (36th).
– Lenglet (5): Like his friend in central defense, he suffered from the assaults of Real Madrid in the Colchonera surface. He was also warned of a yellow card for a jersey draw on Mbappé (56th). However, he caught up by a major role in the ball outings of his team, in particular thanks to precise long passes, such as a nice outside of the foot towards Gonzalez in the second half.
– Hancko (5): Like his large teammates, he was able to protect Atlético airspace and bring presence in the opposing surface during offensive stop kicks. Defensively, his statistics are more than honorable, with especially two blocked shots and four successful tackles. Replaced by Galan (83rd).
– Simeone (7): Not always just technically, the Argentinian has honored the fighting spirit and the grinta of his father. Multiplying the races in the back of Carreras in the first period, he offered himself a nice assist with this precise center to the Norman (14th). Despite a yellow card in the 82ndhe harassed Vinicius then Rodrygo during the whole meeting.
– Barrios (7.5): The 22 -year -old has signed a most complete performance. Precise passes to bypass the opposing pressing, several races forward ball at the foot, a good reaction to the loss of the ball … all with an already characteristic precision. He forced Carreras, however very solid defensively, to make his worst performance since his arrival at Casa Blanca.
– Koke (6.5): The Colchoneros captain delivered a very serious performance in the midfield. In 90 minutes, the 33 -year -old veteran lost only five balloons. Impeccable in his long game, he served perfectly Sorlow before the break for equalization.
– Gonzalez (6): Argentinian 27 -year -old has arrived in Madrid in Madrid this summer in Juventus. Aligned in a left winger role, he put Carvajal in difficulty to his Replacement by Griezmann (83rd). The French striker also scored after a divest of 22 games, served by Baena.
– Alvarez (8): see above
– SORLOT (6): The Norwegian was a key element in the device of Diego Simeone, dominating the defense of Real in the air thanks to its 1.94 m. This is how he equalized the head before the break, in front of Huijsen, on a distant center of Koke (45th+3). On the other hand, he did not show the same efficiency on the ground and may be blamed for having lost two face-to-face with Courtois after having been too late to trigger (3rd, 62nd). Replaced by Gallagher (67th).
real Madrid
– Courtois (3.5): Aligned in Madrid goals, the Belgian was first distinguished by a missed clearance (2nd). After a reassuring tap on the head of Sorloth (11th), he finally bowed on the headset of Le Normand (14th). Not free from reproaches on his placement on the goal of the Colchoneros, he was then saved by his post on the strike of Alvarez (39th) before losing on a new head at close range of Sorlow (45+2nd). Still beaten on the penalty of Alvarez (51st), he interposed against Gonzalez in the process (60th) before taking out the big game against Sorloth (62nd). However, he could not do anything on the masterful free kick of Alvarez (64th), nor on the finesse of Griezmann (90+4th).
– Carvajal (3.5): Captain of the Merengues, the Spanish right side has shown good solidity on the defensive level, especially against Julian Alvarez. More discreet on the offensive level, he generally kept his rank well. A match too neutral overall. Replaced by Camavongarepositioned in the midfield.
– Militao (4): The Brazilian defender was quick to shine in this Madrid derby. Author of a splendid return in the feet of Sorlowe (3rd), he saved his partners for the first time. A saving gesture which did not hide the fragility of the Madrid at the start of the match, however. Too lax on the opening of the Colchoneros score, he finally gave way to the break, hit in the ankle. Replaced by ASENCIO (3.5). The young Spaniard was first solid before cutting Alvarez and scoping with a yellow card. Suffering from the Madrid attackers, he also symbolized the fragility of the Merengues.
– Huijsen (3): Arrived from Bournemouth this summer, the 20 -year -old defender experienced a very complicated meeting. Embarrassed by the mobility of Alvarez and Sorloth, the Dutchman was completely beaten on the second goal of the Colchoneros (45+2nd). Friable in the air and rarely reassuring, it has too often been exceeded.
– Carreras (2.5): Present in the left corridor of the Madrid defense, the former Benfica player has completely missed his first period. Faced with the climbs of Marcos Llorente and Giuliano Simeone, the Spaniard has often failed. Little technically reassuring, guilty of several ball losses, too lax on the goal of Soulloth and warned of a yellow card on a new failed intervention, he continued his disasterclass on the return from the locker room. A match to forget.
– Valverde (2.5): An essential link in the Xabi Alonso collective, Uruguayan has not shown its best face on the lawn of the Metropolitano. Although rigorous defensively, like his few precious returns, he did not really weigh on this meeting, especially in the use of the ball. Worse still, over the minutes, he showed an unusual fragility, also being guilty about the last goal of the Colchoneros. A totally missed match.
– Tchouameni (3.5): Alongside Valverde, the French international also made a fairly neutral copy. Taken from the head on the opening of the score (14th), he sometimes displayed some difficulties in the face of the desire and the intensity of the Ouailles of Diego Simeone. Very discreet ball on the foot, he was finally replaced in a central hinge after the entry into the game of Camavonga.
– Bellingham (4): Back in the eleven of Real, the English international did not count his shopping. Author of a big defensive return (17th), he largely contributed to the balance of his team. An interesting defensive return contrasting with the technical waste observed during its offensive initiative. More and more discreet over the minutes, it was finally recalled by Xabi Alonso. Replaced by Rodrygo (70th)who tried to wake up his family. In vain.
– Güler (5.5): Favorite in Mastantuono to start this derby, the nugget Merengue quickly agreed with Xabi Alonso. An accomplice with Mbappé, he offered a caviar to the latter on the purpose of equalization (25th). Inspired and often found by his partners, he turned into a scorer. With a silky shot, he gave the advantage to his own (37th). Unfortunately for him, on an unheeded intervention, he was informed of a yellow card and offered a penalty to the locals (51st). Replaced by Mastantuono (60th)which brought its dynamism without finding this key pass or the path of the nets. Warned in the last moments for a mood gesture.
– Mbappé (5.5): Author of a fantastic start to the season, KM10 first carried the Merengues. Determined, defensively involved and the most dangerous player offensively, he saw himself rewarding his efforts by equalizing a clinical crossing on the first real Madrilene opportunity (25th). Always full of envy, he nevertheless struggled to highlight himself, a direct consequence of the very disappointing collective service of Casa Blanca. Very discreet after the break, he could not prevent the defeat of his family.
– Vinicius Jr (4): In difficulty in recent weeks, the Brazilian winger has delivered a fairly paradoxical first act. Drissed on his first races and frustrated by the intensity put by the Colchoneros in the duels, he finally offered himself a solo number on the goal of Guller (37th). After this offering, he unfortunately fell back into his flaws. Uncommon, little inspired, he multiplied the loss of the ball, precipitating the defeat of Real.
