Neymar has completed a €90m move from PSG to Al-Hilal but has been called the ‘biggest disappointment’ in football history following the deal’s completion.
The 31-year-old had been at PSG for six years following a club-record €222m transfer from Barcelona, but he never reached the heights expected of him in Paris, where he hoped to win the Ballon d’Or and lead the Ligue 1 team to victory in the Champions League.
Having failed to achieve these two goals, Neymar left for the Saudi league, where he signed a two-year contract.
Fernando Kallas, journalist from Reuterstold Report that the 31-year-old had wasted his best years.
“For me, Neymar is the biggest disappointment in the history of football, not just in Brazil, but worldwide”says Kallas.
“He is the biggest wasted talent in football history. For many, if we compare him to tennis, he was a kind of Novak Djokovic between Rafa Nadal, who would be Cristiano Ronaldo, and Roger Federer, who would be Lionel Messi.
“The problem is that in the end Neymar became Nick Kyrgios. He had the potential to win great things, but in the end he remained an anecdote.
