The context was particularly scrutinized at the Vélodrome this Sunday evening. A few days before OM-PSG, the Minister of Sports, Marina Ferrari, had written to Vincent Labrune to reiterate the need to fully apply the protocol provided in the event of homophobic chants in the stands. The day before, OL-Rennes had also been interrupted for almost a quarter of an hour after the appearance of an offensive banner targeting Saint-Étienne supporters. And during the Classic, several songs “Paris, fuck you” were clearly heard in the stands of the Vélodrome.
Enough to necessarily raise the question of the application of the protocol, while meetings have already been interrupted in recent seasons, notably at the Parc des Princes, such as PSG-OL in December 2024 or Nice-Paris FC in September 2025. The PSG-OM of March 2025, marked by insulting songs and banners against Adrien Rabiot, had however not been arrested. So, what exactly should the regulation trigger, when and according to what criteria? With the very clear warning from the ministry ahead of this Classic, the question had to be asked. The framework exists, but its recent application sometimes gives the impression of a device that is difficult to read consistently.
