Mohamed Salah has marked the story by breaking a unique record in the spectacular Reds victory in the Champions League against Atlético Madrid.

Liverpool, which still lacks success with several new recruits in its workforce, won a late new victory during a thrilling evening in Anfield. Against Atlético, the Reds exploded from the final whistle, silenced the skeptics thanks to a dazzling double from the first six minutes.

Andy Robertson, back in the starting eleven, made the public vibrate by transforming Salah's promising free kick to the bottom of the nets from the first minutes. And while the celebrations were starting to shudder, Liverpool struck again. The Egyptian superstar captured an intelligent pass from Ryan Gravenberch, fakes between the defenders of Atlético and concluded from a delicious strike, out of the reach of Jan Oblak.

A breathtaking record for Egyptian

It was not just one goal to keep in the annals. With this goal, and the decisive pass for Robertson, Salah has scored its name in the history of the Champions League. He became the first player in history to score a goal and an assist in the first six minutes of a Champions League match for an English club.

But Salah did not stop there. His appearance against Atlético marked his 74th appearance in the most prestigious European competition in the jersey of Liverpool, hoisting him over the club legend, Steven Gerrard, in the record. Only Jamie Carragher, at 80, is now boring the road. While the European adventure of the Reds extends until the end of the season, it is only a matter of time before Salah also broke this record. And then there is another impressive milestone: its goal against Atlético was its 250th goal in England, a total which includes its brief passage to Chelsea (two goals) before his reign in Anfield.

The derby is approaching for Liverpool

While Liverpool savor his triumph in the Champions League, the respite time is counted. The next Mersey derby is planned, with the arrival of Everton to Anfield on Saturday. With its historical exploits, Salah will be keen to torment the Toffees and further increase his record.
