Facing Norway on Friday evening, the Blues will have to do without their coach Didier Deschamps, who returned to France to attend his mother’s funeral. At a press conference today, Aurélien Tchouameni wanted to send a warm message to his coach. “On behalf of the French team, we wanted to offer our condolences to the coach, his family, his entourage, it’s a complicated moment for everyone, the coach and also us, we tried to make things as normal as possible, but we know that the situation is not normal, he gave us a mission, and the main objective will be to make him as proud as possible.”

Guy Stéphan, who will officiate tomorrow in the absence of DD, also sent a message to his partner: “I have a very strong thought for Didier and his family, he is very affected by what is happening to him, I have a lot of exchanges with him, I had him a few minutes ago, this will be the case until the match even if tomorrow is still a special day because it is the funeral. I will strive to prove myself worthy of his trust.”
