Winner of the Champions League in 2013 with Bayern, Franck Ribéry is one of the most caught French players in the major European competition.

We know the story: Boyn's lightning right winger, during Arjen Robben, Franck Ribéry conducted his Munichoise training in the Champions League, winning the final against Borussia Dortmund (2-1), on May 25, 2013 in Wembley. A few months later, the French international finished third in the Fifa Ballon d'Or (and not Ballon d'Or France Football) behind the superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. A real trauma for “Ch'ti Franck”.

Ribéry has played eleven seasons of very high level with FC Bayern and its C1 assessment is thus 87 matches. The northern is part of the top 10 French players with the most LDC matches, but it is only 8th.

Kylian Mbappé had indeed equaled Ribéry last season in number of games disputed in the Champions League and the current captain of the French team, aligned with Real Madrid against OM on Tuesday evening in Bernabéu, honored his 88th appearance to find himself alone in this tricolor ranking.

Benzema far ahead of Mbappé and Ribéry

There are only great glories of tricolor football in this pantheon in question. Karim Benzema, five -time winner of the Champions League – and rewarded with a Ballon d'Or in 2022 – is the French player with the most Champions League meetings on the clock, namely 152! Thierry Henry follows it from far away with 112 C1 meetings.

Patrice Evra closes the podium with 108 outings in the Champions League but should be exceeded by Antoine Griezmann this season, the Atlético striker being at 105 parts of C1. Below the 100 bar, we find Claude Makelele (96 matches) and Raphaël Varane (92 matches) and now Mbappé.
