Matuidi is official

Retired since 2022 and a last experience at Inter Miami, the 2018 world champion Blaise Matuidi becomes one of the FIFA ambassadors in the context of an action against racism.

Before Steve Mandanda this Wednesday, the 2018 World Champions Adil Rami, Blaise Matuidi and Raphaël Varane also retired. At 38, “Blaisou” is a little discreet, three years after hanging up the crampons after two seasons with Inter Miami (48 matches in total). The former midfielder of PSG and Juventus notably took care of his football school which he launched in Florida and in the Paris region.

Matuidi will be more on the major football events since he is part of a group of former players selected by FIFA. As part of its “Players' Voice Panel” program, the international body intends to fight even more against racism in football and the ambassadors will be responsible for
“Support the global mobilization against racism, supervise strategies to combat racial discrimination, participate in educational initiatives and contribute to the implementation of reforms”.

Matuidi is accompanied by two compatriots in this project: Mikaël Silvestre and the former tricolor international Jessica Houara. There are other great glories of football like Didier Drogba, George Weah, Emmanuel Adebayor, Mercy Akide, Ivan Cordoba, Khalilou Fadiga, Formiga, Maia Jackman, Sun Jihai, Aya Miyama, Lotta Schelin, Briana Scurry and Juan Pablo Sorin.
