The bet Ligue 1+ is currently successful. After the non -successful negotiations with Canal+ during the summer, for an exclusive distribution from the audiovisual group, the LFP therefore launched its own platform to broadcast eight of the nine meetings per day. Ligue 1+ channels are not only accessible on the site and application but also via VOD platforms like Dazn and Amazon as well as Internet operators.
Thanks to an offer at 9.99 euros per month for three months then 14.99 for the following nine months, Ligue 1+ would have attracted no less than 600,000 subscribers on the first day of the Hexagonal Championship, “What was done throughout the previous season”as was delighted by the president of LFP Media, Nicolas de Tavernost.
The LFP is now targeting the million subscribers this season, before moving up a gear during exercise 2026-2027. The league will then have recovered the poster broadcast on Saturday afternoon by BeIN Sports. To exceed three or four million subscribers in a few years?
More expensive league 1+
Now a big opponent of Vincent Labrune, who is still the president of the LFP, Joseph Oughourlian, the boss of the RC Lens, asks for patience for Ligue 1+. The businessman born in Paris, however, revealed, on RMC, that the Prix de Ligue 1+ was going to increase. “There is an economic plan which hopes that we arrive at 2 or 2.5 million subscribers and that the price is gradually going up towards 19 euros”launched Oughourlian. Not to say 20 euros.
The current subscription for Ligue 1+ is 14.99 euros per month, with the first three months at 10 euros for those who registered before August 31. But the commitment is 12 months and nothing says that some championship followers will not abandon with the increase in the price. Especially with the mediocre quality offered by Ligue 1 meetings between a majority of clubs with the total incapacity to recruit properly.
