It was one of the very beautiful posters of the day in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers for the Africa zone. Fighting for the first place in their group, and therefore for the direct ticket to the United States alone, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal delivered a crazy match this Tuesday at the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa.

In a fairly crazy atmosphere, the DRC led 2-0, thanks to its attackers Cédric Bakambu (26th) and Yoane Wissa (33rd), and virtually had four points ahead of his opponent, two days before the end of this mini-championship.

Senegal therefore completely overturned the steam, returning to the score thanks to Pope Gueye (39th) and Nicolas Jackson (53rd), before tearing off the victory by Pape Matar Sarr (87th). So these are the Lions of Teranga in pole position in this group B.

Cameroon in bad shape, Nigeria almost condemned

In the other groups, Egypt took a very big step towards qualification by bringing the draw of its trip to Burkina Faso (0-0). On the other hand, the situation is complicated for Cameroon, which will undoubtedly have to go through the dams after its defeat in Cape Verde (1-0), on a goal from Dailon Rocha Livramento (54th).

For Nigeria, it is almost finished after this draw conceded this Tuesday in South Africa (1-1), where Calvin Bassey (44th) responded to the CSC of his teammate William Troost-Ekong (25th).
