After two participations in the World Cup, for an eighth finale against England in 2022 in Qatar, Senegal is not certain at all to compete in the World Cup 26. The African Champions 2021 are still led by Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sadio Mané, the star striker of the Lions of Teranga being accompanied by Iliman Ndiaye, Ismaïla Sarr, Boulaye Dia or Nicolas Jackson in the offensive sector. But the situation is critical.

The training led by Pape Thiaw is second in his qualifying group in the Africa zone with a point less than the DR Congo. The fault with three zero results in seven matches, against Togo (0-0), the DRC (1-1) and Sudan (0-0)! The Senegalese are in unfavorable tank because they move to the Congolese on Tuesday (6 p.m. in France) in Kinshasa. Leopards therefore have a huge opportunity to get closer to the qualifier by winning at home.

The DR Congo led by Sébastien Desabre showed incredible solidarity during his journey, in particular around Chancel Mbemba, which concentrated its efforts on its selection when it is sidelined at OM. Dimitry Bertaud is the goalkeeper (he is without a club), the former English international Aaron Wan-Bissaka the right side, Samuel Moutoussamy is precious in the middle and, in front, Cédric Bakambu and Yoane Wissa are untenable.

Senegal in dams, Congo-Kinshasa in history?

If he is beaten by the DRC on Tuesday, Senegal will absolutely have to finish in the best four seconds (nine groups) in order to compete in the African dams (a final oven) which will determine the continent's representative during the intercontinental dam in March 2026. Six national teams will meet for a mini-tournoi-with the two better classified in FIFA of the World Cup organized by Canada, the United States and Mexico.

The Congo-Kinshasa, a large country in Central Africa, has not played the FIFA competition since its participation in 1974 under the name of Zaire. Defender Ilunga Mwepu entered the bloopers in the third match against Brazil: on an opposing free kick, he came out at full speed of the wall to clear the ball while the Auriverde had not yet played. He explained that he had made this gesture to protest against the threats of the dictator Mobutu against the team.
