OM, the confirmed disaster

Olympique de Marseille has pressure for its large reunions with the Champions League. Last season, the four French clubs hired in C1 had indeed shone for the launch of the new C1 formula.

Before even seeing PSG register its name to Padders of the competition, depriving OM of its status as a single French club to have won the Champions League, French football had vibrated to the exploits of Brest, Lille and Monaco. The four clubs had managed to get out of the group stage, the palm in this area returning to LOSC, the only club in France directly qualified for the round of 16.

While PSG and AS Monaco will try to do as well as last season, OM will therefore try to show up. The forecasts are however hardly optimistic with the Marseillais, who will inevitably have much to do with Real Madrid, Liverpool, Newcastle, Atalanta Bergame, Ajax Amsterdam, Sporting Portugal, Union Saint-Gilles and Bruges.

OM will have to thwart the forecasts

According to the OPTA specialist, the Olympian club should finish in 31st place in the league phase. So in the last places and far from the dams, only the first 24 teams continuing the adventure next winter. As a result of the eight points promoted to OM, two victories and two draws.

OPTA is more optimistic with PSG, which could finish in fifth place with nearly 15 points despite a particularly difficult draw and which appears to be the third club best placed to compete in the final behind Liverpool and Arsenal, and Monaco, expected in 21st position with 10 points.

Note that the football account Meets Data is not much more optimistic with Lés Ciel et Blanc, classifying them in 27th place in the race for qualification with 49% chance of accessing the dams and only 6% to finish in the Top 8.
