Stade Rennais striker Amine Gouiri has changed nationality but it is not at all certain that he will be selected with Algeria.
After having defended the colors of France in all the youth selections, Amine Gouiri made the choice last month to join the Algerian national team. The Stade Rennais player has taken the necessary steps to integrate the Greens.
Gouiri crosses his fingers for September
Gouiri made himself available to Djamel Belmadi. However, it is not certain that the latter will use his services. According to journalist Yacine Bouali, the coach of the Fennecs will not offer any free pass to the former Nice.

If he selected Houssem Aouar when the latter was coming out of a white season with OL, Belmadi will only retain Gouiri if he deems him in good sporting shape and able to bring more to his team. Already having the Bounedjah, Amoura and Slimani under his control, the technician could judge that he is already sufficiently equipped in the offensive sector.
Gouiri can still be confident about his upcoming presence among the double African champions. In view of his age and his potential, he embodies a good solution in the medium and long term for Algeria. It remains to be seen how his Rennes club will react if ever he was selected for the next CAN, which was not necessarily planned at the start.
