The Professional Football League (LFP) has noted that the Champions 2025 Champions Trophy, traditionally opposing the French champion to the Winner of the French Cup (or to the Dauphin of L1 in the event of a double, om if PSG wins against Reims on Saturday at 9 p.m.), will not be able to stand this summer. The ultra-charged calendar of the Parisian club-engaged in the club World Cup from June 15 to July 13-makes it impossible to organize this meeting before the resumption of the season, especially as the postponement of the L1 kick-off for PSG has already been mentioned in the LFP committee, as revealed by the team on May 14.

The game, which offers a trophy to the winner, is therefore postponed to next winter. The date of December 23 was put forward by the LFP, but arouses the opposition of the UNFP, the players' union. At this point, neither the final date, nor the format – simple match or final oven with four teams -, and even less the place are arrested. Before the 2024-2025 edition finally flourished for Doha in Qatar where PSG had beaten Monaco 1-0, Kinshasa and Abidjan were among the cities expected to welcome this confrontation.
