A Barça player does not appreciate the departure of Ousmane Dembélé to PSG.
Jordi Alba moved to Florida in recent weeks. The 34-year-old, who left FC Barcelona at the end of last season, recently joined Inter Miami, where he will play alongside former teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.
In an interview given to SportAlba spoke about the circumstances of his move to MLS and revealed that there was no pact between him, Messi and Busquets for them to join the same club.
“If I had made the decision earlier, I would have announced it earlier. It’s clear that with Leo and Busi here, the decision was easier to make, but above all it was the affection of the club and the good atmosphere in the stadiums that played a role. These are things that I have thought about. For me, this is the best solution. Nothing would happen to us if it were planned, but I give you my word that we did not have a pact”.
Alba also spoke about another of his ex-Barcelona team-mates, Ousmane Dembele. The 26-year-old looks set to join Paris Saint-Germain in the coming days, and Alba admitted he would be disappointed if Dembele leaves.
“It’s a bad taste in the mouth because he’s an exceptional player. I haven’t spoken to anyone at Barca about it, I only know what came out in the press, but I would like him to stay”.
Alba could make his Inter Miami debut in midweek, and he’s sure to be very excited to share the pitch again with former Barcelona teammates Messi and Busquets.
Dembélé did not warn his teammates of his departure for PSG, as indicated by Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso after the friendly match against Milan (1-0), this Wednesday.
“Ousmane didn’t say anything to the players,” Marcos Alonso said. Until it’s official and whatever happens, he’s a player like any other. We will see what will happen. Every year, players arrive in all teams and you have to adapt quickly and look to the future. »
” We were all reading that he was probably going to leave, but we weren’t 100% sure what decision he made.added Sergi Roberto. It’s a shame, but we wish him the best because he’s a good teammate and a good friend. We have been through a lot together and we loved him very much. This team will be able to deal with this situation and whatever comes their way.“, assured Sergi Roberto, who added that “until all the media were talking about it, nobody knew anything” of Dembele’s future.
