Karim Benzema has scored his third goal in as many appearances for his new Saudi club, Al-Ittihad.
Already a scorer in his first two matches with Al-Ittihad, as part of the Arab Cup of Champions Clubs, Karim Benzema also scored in his team’s third meeting of the group stage on Wednesday against the Iraqi team of Al Shorta (1-2).
Entering after the hour mark, the Ballon d’Or title converted a penalty late in the game (84th). Nuno Espirito Santo had rotated. N’Golo Kanté, he remained on the bench.

In the quarter-finals of this competition, Al-Ittihad, reigning Saudi Arabian champion, faces Al-Hilal, the great Saudi football club, which has, for its part, recruited Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom this summer.
