Real Valladolid have fired their sporting director Fran Sanchez and his assistants 11 days from the start of the season.
‘La Pucela’ made the news public on Monday evening, and Sanchez arrived in Valladolid at the same time. He was then negotiating in Madrid with FC Barcelona for the right side Ivan Fresneda, according to Diario AS.
In addition to Sanchez, his assistants Luis Casas, Antonio Barea and Jose Manuel Hernandez have been relieved of their duties: all four were out of contract in 2024.
The recruitment department and the coach fired
The news was delivered to them by owner Ronaldo’s right-hand man, strategic director of the sporting department, Paulo Andre, in the presence of general manager Matt Fenaert.
In addition to the dismissals, the day was marked by the absence of coach Paulo Pezzolano, who was appointed seven days before the end of last season. The training session scheduled for that day was taken care of by assistant coach Martin Varini.
Several players, Jawad El Yamiq, Juan José Narvaez, Mickael Malsa, Cyle Larin and Fresneda trained away from the rest of the squad, in anticipation of possible departures.
