Within an original triptych with Portugal and Morocco, Spain must submit several host cities where there are stadiums welcoming the competition. However, FIFA has the power to unilaterally modify these host cities of the 2030 World Cup, according to a document entitled “Overview of reception requirements.” The case of the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, a Stade of Atlético de Madrid, arouses questions at FIFA because the Colchoneros wonder if it would be more profitable economically to use its stadium for concerts and other events rather than making it available to FIFA for two full months, as required by the regulations.

It should also be noted that Malaga, expected to be part of the host cities, is also on the hot seat. The Rosaleda stadium must be enlarged by 10,000 spectators to reach the capacity of 40,000, required by FIFA. This creates two problems: the economic cost of the project and the need to find an alternative stage so that Malaga can play while the enlargement is underway. For the moment, Vigo and Valence would hold the rope to integrate the project into the place and places of the two stadiums implicated.
