Aston Villa quietly validated his ticket for the semi-finals of the FA Cup, Sunday, by dominating Preston (0-3), resident of Championship. The future opponent of Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals of the Champions League (first leg on April 9) took a little less than an hour to blow up the opposing lock, to finally stand out quite clearly.

Marcus Rashford, who had not yet marked since his arrival at the Villans, signed a double encouraging. First on a Lucas worthy service from the left (0-1, 58th), then transforming a penalty a few minutes later (0-2, 63rd). Digne, very legs, delivered a second assist, this time for Jacob Ramsey (0-3, 71st).

Rashford is decidedly a cup man, since it is his 27th goal in one of the other domestic competitions: 11 in FA Cup and 16 in Carabao Cup. No one has done better since 2016 and their beginnings with the Red Devils.

Paris remains a big favorite

Ten days before the first round against PSG, a large winner of Saint-Etienne on Saturday, Aston Villa is in working order. The men of Unai Emery remain on five victories in a row during their five official games. On the other hand, they only occupy 9th place in Premier League, four points from fourth place.

Despite the good shape of the moment of Aston Villa, Paris will be a big favorite of this quarter -final, whose return will take place at Villa Park on April 15.
