Holder against Osasuna in the late match of the 27th day of Liga, won by the Catalans (3-0), Inigo Martinez had been the target of an appeal filed by the Pamplona club. Indeed, the player having been dismissed on injury by the Spanish selection, he could not have taken part in a meeting of the Catalan club within five days of the second international deadline of La Roja.

However, the RFEF agreed with FC Barcelona, because according to the regulations, “An injured player who, due to injury or illness, cannot attend a convocation of the country's selection of which he is national, must, if it requests it, submit to a medical examination carried out by a doctor appointed by the association.” However, the Spanish Federation did not ask for any medical examination from Inigo Martinez, at its release, making its official absence for injury obsolete.
