Igor Tudor, the comeback!

The time is serious for Thiago Motta. The Juventus coach, weakened by a series of defeats (including an elimination in the Italian Cup against Lazio), plays his future during the shock against Genoa this weekend. In case of defeat, the Turin management would consider a radical change … with Igor Tudor at the top of the list.

Tudor, the number 1 option

With 27 goals conceded in Serie A and a qualification in the Champions League threatened, the Piedmontese club does not take off. The leaders, including Cristiano Giuntoli, summoned Motta to “straighten the bar”, demanding tactical adjustments and better cohesion. The locker room, criticized for its lack of solidity, also seems out of its coach.

If Motta is dismissed, Juve would bet on Igor Tudor, free since his departure from Lazio in 2024. The Croatian (46 years old), known for his intense football and his character as a leader, embodies the “punch” profile sought by the old lady. His past in Serie A (ex-player of Juve in 1998-2007) plays in his favor, as is his ability to relaunch projects in crisis.

Good news for OM?

In the shade, this option could relieve Marseille. By targeting Tudor, Juve dismisses (for the moment) Roberto de Zerbi, current OM coach and former candidate for the post. A boon for the Phocaeans, who feared a departure from their star technician this summer.

Antonio Conte and Gian Piero Gasperini are also mentioned, but Tudor has the advantage of a quick and free transition. Juve, which wants to avoid an expensive transfer window, favors efficiency.

The last chance match

This Saturday against Genoa, Motta faces her old club. A victory is imperative to calm the revolt. Otherwise, Tudor's shattering return to Italy would become inevitable … and would mark a new chapter in his career.
