The mountain was not insurmountable, far from it. But this laborious Milan obviously did not have the strength to overcome it. Beaten on the smallest of the margins in Rotterdam 6 days ago (0-1), the
Rossoneri did not find the levers to reverse the steam and compost their ticket for the knockout stages of the Champions League. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had called a general mobilization, was not heard …

It all started well for the team of Sergio Conceiçao since Santiago Gimenez, like a symbol, found the way to the nets against his old club to register his first goal in C1 since his arrival this winter from the Feyenoord – all end of a few seconds (1-0, 1st). But the case was spoiled when Milan was reduced to 10 after the expulsion of ThĂ©o Hernandez. A numerical superiority materialized by the Dutch, who equalized by Bueno, Carranza (1-1, 73rd). It is a resounding failure at the heart of a failed season in high widths for this cador of Italian football.

Bayern goes through the small door

Another big name on the continent, Bayern Munich had a much easier mission against Celtic. The men of Vincent Kompany had taken a first step towards the eighths by giving off the Scottish club in his singular lair, in the first leg (2-1). And he just had to finish the work. A contract completed without honorable mention, since the Bundesliga leader was hung by a tenacious and courageous opponent. A Celtic which even offered the luxury of leading to the Allianz Arena to believe in his dream after KĂĽhn's goal (0-1, 63rd). But visitors were unable to surf their momentum, and Bayern ultimately avoided a setback that would have a task by equalizing by Davies in stoppage (1-1, 90th+3). Nothing very glorious.

Finally, in the last evening match, the Atalanta Bergame confirmed its less good blow was surprised by Bruges. Already beaten in Belgium (1-2), the DEA was sealed from the start of the match by the fast bit of Talbi (0-1, 3rd). The same Talbi doubled before half an hour (0-2, 27th), before Jutgla allowed Belgians to fly away (0-3, 45th+3). Lookman's score reduction in stride was not followed by effect (1-3, 46). An evening definitely forgets for Italian football.
