Real Madrid had to face a new injury, since the right side Lucas Vazquez will not participate in the next Club Champions League match against Manchester City due to a problem with the hamstrings. Vazquez, who played the Madrid derby on Saturday in La Liga, was replaced in the 81st minute by Luka Modric. On Sunday, Los Blancos confirmed that the player suffered from a muscular injury to the left hamstrings and will not be part of the team traveling to Manchester.

The official press release from the Spanish Champions indicates:
“Following the exams carried out today on Lucas Vázquez by the Real Madrid medical services, it was diagnosed with a muscle injury to the left hamstrings, which means that it will not be in the team for Go to Manchester. Its recovery will be evaluated“.

Another injury

The Merengues underwent a serious defensive setback last year by losing Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao, injured in the long term, respectively in October and November. The situation worsened in February, when central defenders Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba were injured, then that Vazquez's announcement was a new blow for Carlo Ancelotti.

Vazquez being out of the game, Ancelotti could consider using the Lateral rear of Fortune Eduardo Camavonga on the right side. The Frenchman played on the left side of the rear line for many games during the 2023/24 campaign.
