The Madrid derby between Real and Atlético (1-1) was marked by a very severe penalty whistled against Aurélien Tchouaméni. Even the Catalan press agrees to say it.

What would be a Real Madrid match without a controversy concerning refereeing? The derby against Atlético (1-1) on Saturday evening has not escaped it, with a very liticious action: the penalty whistled against Aurélien Tchouaméni.

The action took place in the first period, and it was apparently harmless. A center from the left, finally released by the defense of Real. Except that, after a few slow motion, attention linger on contact at the first post between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Samuel Lino. By finding the right angle and zooming, the Var noticed that the French, at the end of his intervention, had walked on the Atlético player and had made him fall.

A very severe penalty against Tchouameni

Verdict? Penalty. And even the Catalan press is surprised, and relays the analysis of the former referee Mr. Mateu Lahoz.
“It's incredible, it changes sport, Heard the COPE consultant. A few seconds before, the same referee warns his accomplices of the Var not to intervene because the ball is not at stake at the time of trampling. »»

It is clear that the contact between Tchouameni and Lino occurs once the ball has passed, and therefore does not influence the action. But the Var call was enough to convince the referee Mr. Soto Grado to whistle this strange penalty.
