The weekend was good for PSG. On the field, the capital club closed the 17e day of Ligue 1 with a 2-1 victory over AS Saint-Etienne, thanks to a double from Ousmane Dembélé, retaining its first place in the championship with still seven points ahead of its closest pursuer, Olympique de Marseilles.

But Parisian leaders recorded other good news during the weekend. Discussions with their Napoli counterparts regarding the transfer of Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia have indeed borne fruit and an agreement now seems very close, according to The Team. The two clubs must resume contact this Monday with the objective of quickly closing the matter.

PSG hopes to lower the score

According to Italian media, the transfer could be concluded in the coming days for a transfer fee estimated between 65 and 70 million euros, which would make this signing the biggest transfer in the history of PSG during a transfer window winter. A record previously held by Gonçalo Ramos recruited in the winter of 2023 for 65 million euros.

PSG could nevertheless try to include an unwanted player in the transaction in order to lower the rating. Milan Skriniar, Randal Kolo Muani and Marco Asensio were thus offered to the Neapolitan club. But the Slovak defender seems above all very close to Galatasaray while Randal Kolo Muani is one of the priorities of Juventus Turin and Marco Asensio is the subject of discussions with an English club.
