From now on, Paris Saint-Germain has almost no room for error. Twenty-fifth in the Champions League standings, the capital club finds itself in a position where it is virtually eliminated from the play-off race. With three days to go, Luis Enrique’s men are almost condemned to win each time or risk experiencing a great first in the QSI era: not being present for the knockout phase.
Luckily, Paris enters its money time against the most likely opponent: Salzburg. A team that Brest had crushed 4-0 in Austria. Lacking efficiency up front, will the Rouge et Bleu be able to imitate the Bretons? For this very important meeting, Luis Enrique should field his typical team. A team which will, however, be deprived of Ousmane Dembélé, suspended after his expulsion against Bayern Munich (0-1).
Lee to replace Dembélé
Relegated to the sidelines in Bavaria, Gianluigui Donnarumma should regain his starting position. In front of him, a classic four-man defense made up of Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Nuno Mendes. Back in the Parisian group, Lucas Hernandez will logically start on the bench. The midfield will be made up of the traditional trio Warren Zaire-Emery, João Neves and Vitinha. Finally, Kang-in Lee should replace Dembélé on the right side of the attack and play alongside Gonçalo Ramos and Bradley Barcola.
Opposite, Salzburg will try to achieve the feat. If the Austrians manage to win, they would even move ahead of PSG in the standings. To hope for this miracle, the Austrian team should play in 4-3-3 with Schlager in the cages. In defense, the quartet Dedic, Baidoo, Bajcetic, Guindo would be aligned. The environment should revolve around Bidstrup, Gourna-Douath and Gloukh. Finally, the trio Yeo, Ratkov and Dorgeles would lead the attack.
