OM knocks out ASSE

OM took the scalp of ASSE this Sunday evening, at the end of the 14th day of Ligue 1, notably with the first goal in Marseille colors from Adrien Rabiot.

Two teams, two diametrically opposed trajectories for this last duel of the 14th day of Ligue 1. The Greens who are playing for maintenance, and who remained on a large setback in Rennes (0-5), challenged an OM who are chasing Monaco and PSG at the top of the ranking. And we can say that the hierarchy was respected.

We are thus playing the quarter of an hour of play when OM breaks the deadlock. Rabiot, very well fed by Maupay’s little dive in one touch, offers himself a perfect chest-left foot sequence to alter the scoreboard. Marseille’s objective of returning to the level of ASM in the event of a 3rd victory in a row seems perfectly feasible given the nature of the debates on the field.

At rest, the observation is also clear. OM dominate head and shoulders and the Greens are lucky to get out so cheaply with, in passing, Rabiot’s first goal under his new colors.

On the hour mark, Greenwood controlled then fell following a long aerial ball, being hit by PĂ©trot’s knee. Mr. Brisard does not hesitate for long and the former Mancunian himself transforms the sentence for 2-0. This will also be the final score. Marseille returns to 2nd ahead of Monaco, 5 points behind PSG. Saint-Etienne remains a barrage.
