She had not appeared with the tricolor jersey on her back since February 28, 2024. That day, the French women’s team was spanked in the Nations League final by Spain (2-0). A first final in official competition for the Blues, but a last selection for Amel Majri who was never called up again by her then coach, Hervé Renard. The latter left this summer after a final failure during the 2024 Olympics, Majri benefited from the trust of Laurent Bonadei. A profitable choice for the successor of Hervé Renard since the offensive scored on Saturday against Nigeria (2-1).

Called for the final gathering of the Bleues in 2024, Amel Majri did not miss her return. Starting against the Super Falcons, the mother scored the second French goal. But before her, it was Eugénie Le Sommer who put France on the right track by opening the score with a pass from Marie-Antoinette Katoto (29th). And eight minutes later, it was the scorer who turned into a passer for Amel Majri (2-0, 37th).

Spain to finish 2024

Rather well in place, the French were nevertheless surprised just before the break with a well-led Nigerian counter-attack concluded by Ifeoma Onumonu (2-1, 45th + 3). A little bit of cold for an audience at the Raymond Kopa stadium in Angers who didn’t really need that in the freezing cold. He will still be able to regain some warmth during the second half, even if no other goals will be scored. Laurent Bonadei, for his part, rotated, bringing out for example Wendie Renard, Eugénie Le Sommer and Grace Geyoro at half-time to bring in other French players.

Les Bleues therefore won their friendly match of the day. They have one last left which should be of a completely different caliber since it is against Spain that the Tricolores will play next Tuesday December 3 at the Allianz Riviera in Nice (9:00 p.m.).
