Having just been named Ballon d’Or, we almost forget that Rodri (28 years old) will surely not play again this season. Victim of a cruciate ligament rupture this fall, the Spaniard leaves a gaping hole to fill on Pep Guardiola’s scoresheet. To resolve this problem, the Skyblues would have positioned themselves on Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi (25 years old) and Italian international Samuele Ricci (23 years old, 2 caps) who plays for Torino.

According to information fromTeamthe two men are the preferred avenues for the Citizens to replace the best player of the last Euro. Replacing Rodri, Zubimendi knows how to do it, during the Euro final against England, the Spanish international came on in place of his compatriot to finish the match. A clue perhaps for the Skyblues in the face of this complicated situation to manage, given the large investments in sight, moreover for a replacement which would only be temporary. A new headache in sight for Manchester City for this 2024-25 financial year.
