After an excellent start to the season until mid-September, Torino failed to maintain the same momentum over the last month. Worse still, the Turin club had suffered five consecutive losses in all competitions (Serie A and Coppa) before receiving, this Friday evening on behalf of the 9th day of Serie A, Como 1907, author of a start to the exercise irregular but interesting for a club just promoted to the transalpine elite. Paolo Vanoli’s men did well against the Lombard team with a narrow victory (1-0). In the game, this reception from the Azzurri clearly did not reassure the Garnets, who left the ball to the team led by Cesc Fabregas, with ball possession approaching 70%.

In terms of spectacle, the stands of the Olympic stadium in Turin were not spoiled, before the last quarter of an hour of play. Taking advantage of a risky header from the incoming Matthias Braunoder, the young Swedish striker Alieu Ndjie in took the opportunity to steal the ball from the opposing goalkeeper and push the ball into the empty goal (1-0, 75th). Just one small goal in this match, which allows Toro to reassure itself with a victory and a clean sheet – the first since mid-September – to move up to sixth place in the standings, two provisional points from the podium. Unhappy despite their domination, the Lariani remain temporarily stuck in 14th place, before the other matches of the day which could bring them closer to the red zone.
