Manchester United are ready to sell Harry Maguire and have significantly lowered their asking price for the defender.

Maguire has fallen down United’s hierarchy in recent seasons under Erik ten Hag. He was stripped of the captaincy last year, with Bruno Fernandes given the armband in his place. The England defender has also been linked with a move to West Ham and even PSG in the summer of 2023, but no move has materialized.

The Daily Star now reports that the Red Devils will attempt to offload the 31-year-old centre-back in the upcoming January transfer window and have significantly reduced their demands, dropping their price tag from €36m to €12m .

Reduced requirements

Maguire’s playing time has declined in recent seasons, but he has been brought back into the spotlight during this period due to the club’s various injury problems. However, he himself recently suffered a fresh injury during United’s draw against Aston Villa earlier this month and is expected to remain on the sidelines for the next few weeks.

The Ten Hag side, who have not won any of their last five outings in all competitions, will look to get back on track on October 19 when they host Brentford at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
