PSG lost for the first time this season on Arsenal’s pitch (2-0), this Tuesday evening, for their second Champions League match.

PSG is no longer undefeated. On the occasion of their first big test of the season at the Emirates Stadium, this Tuesday evening, the French champions fell to Arsenal (2-0). Without Ousmane Dembélé, sanctioned, the Rouge et Bleu were dominated in the first period, but pushed in the second act without finding the fault.

Rather well in place during the start of the match played with crazy intensity, the Parisians conceded a first goal from Havertz with a header after an anticipation error from Donnarumma (1-0, 20e). Luis Enrique’s men reacted through Nuno Mendes, who hit the post (28e), and Hakimi (31e).

Despite these two opportunities to equalize, it was the Gunners who generally dominated the first act, and they were rewarded. Saka doubled the lead with a free kick which was not touched by anyone and which ended up in the back of the Parisian goalkeeper’s net (2-0, 35e), once again not free from all criticism.

Returning from the locker room, the Ile-de-France residents came back with better intentions, increasing their pressure as the minutes passed. They even hit the uprights a second time on a deflection at the near post from Joao Neves (66e). Huddled in defense, Saliba’s partners held firm and thus offered themselves a first success in this Champions League campaign after their draw against Atalanta. For its part, PSG recorded its first defeat of the season and will have to react in three weeks against PSV.
