Lucas Chevalier is going through a complicated first season in the colors of Paris Saint-Germain. Arriving to succeed Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 24-year-old goalkeeper failed to establish himself and even lost his number one place to Matvey Safonov since December.
A situation which has further darkened with his non-selection for the World Cup with the French team, symbol of a dynamic in clear decline. In this context, a departure from the summer transfer window now appears to be a credible option, with the player himself no longer ruling out the idea of turning the page.
According to PSG Inside Newsthe Parisian management shares this trend. Luis Campos would be open to a definitive sale, while already accepting the idea of a significant capital loss. Recruited for 40 million euros in the summer of 2025, Chevalier could be sold for around 25 million, an estimated loss of 15 million in one year.
Two Ligue 1 clubs on Chevalier
A sum which does not seem to frighten two Ligue 1 clubs, very interested in the idea of recovering the man who was voted best goalkeeper in the French championship just a year ago during the UNFP trophies. AS Monaco and Stade Rennais are already positioning themselves to try to revive it, even if Rennes already has Brice Samba in its ranks.
For his part, Chevalier would not yet favor a specific destination, but would welcome a return to an environment where he could regain playing time and confidence. A file which could quickly accelerate from the start of the summer transfer window.
