“I’m going there running”
A choice that Samir Nasri seems to understand perfectly. Podcast guest K-mel Alliance Ethnikthe former OM and Manchester City player spoke frankly about the issue of dual nationality. And he did not hide his attachment to Algeria, even going so far as to project himself onto the Fennecs bench: “If I am called to coach the Algerian selection? I’m going there running! »
Nasri then developed his thoughts on the link to identity and the relationship to roots: “Once you know your country, once you see your roots, your relationship changes. Tomorrow, if I have to advise a player, I can tell him: use our example. Perhaps we weren’t appreciated at our true value here. Maybe in the country of your ancestors, people will respect you more. » Comments which will not fail to provoke a reaction, while the question of sporting identity and selection choices remains more than ever at the heart of international football.
