At the end of a hectic week, FC Barcelona quietly beat Real Madrid (2-0) this Sunday evening at Camp Nou, and won the 29th Spanish championship title.

The week could hardly have ended any other way. While Real Madrid had a spectacular crisis with the altercation in the locker room between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde, FC Barcelona did not miss the opportunity to push down its rival and make the perfect move by securing the title of champion of Spain.

In this tense context, Barça left no room for suspense by quickly taking off on the scoreboard. Marcus Rashford’s magnificent free kick delighted the Camp Nou (9th). Then it was Ferran Torres, on a nice delivery from Dani Olmo, who was responsible for doubling the lead (18th).

The 29th title for Barça

Without Kylian Mbappé, who still found himself at the heart of a controversy during the match, but with Aurélien Tchouaméni, to whom his coach did not hold it against the incident of the week, Real Madrid failed to react. Not very dangerous, the Merengues never gave the impression that they were going to spoil the party.

So here is FC Barcelona with 14 points ahead of its great rival with three days remaining, and therefore assured of a new title, the second in a row, the 29th in total (the gap is reduced with Real’s 36 crowns). A logical coronation for Hansi Flick’s men, who have both the best attack (91 goals in 35 matches) and the best defense (31 goals) in the championship. Relentless!
