Scheduled for May 30, the Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal will not be played at the usual time.

PSG has entered the history of French football a little further. A year after its coronation against Inter Milan, the capital club has indeed won a new qualification for the C1 final and is still in the running for a double that only Real Madrid has achieved since the advent of the Champions League.

Eight days after their fantastic victory at the Parc des Princes (5-4), Luis Enrique’s men extinguished Bayern Munich on their pitch at the Allianz Arena and will meet Arsenal on May 30 for what will be the third final in the history of the Rouge et Bleu.

This PSG-Arsenal final, which will be played at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, will be the occasion of a great first. The match will not kick off at 9 p.m. as usual but at 6 p.m. A strong choice from UEFA which wishes to make the event more family-friendly.

Such an economic reason

UEFA’s objective? “Making match day a truly enjoyable experience, while creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy for families and children to attend,” she explained when this change was announced.

Another reason lies behind this decision, this one economic. “The new kick-off time also aligns with a more accessible broadcast window, allowing the final to reach an even wider television and digital audience around the world, with a focus on engaging younger viewers,” had in fact agreed the European body.
