It’s another summer which promises to be particularly hot in the Spanish capital. The decision-makers at Real Madrid have a lot of work to do, starting with the file of the new coach who will replace Alvaro Arbeloa. If certain media strive to say that José Mourinho is the big favorite of management, no decision seems to have yet been made, while the names of Mauricio Pochettino and Didier Deschamps also come up regularly.

The transfer window will also be exciting, with many departures to be expected, including David Alaba and Dani Carvajal, at the end of their contract, while players like Dani Ceballos or Eduardo Camavinga could be pushed towards the door. As for the arrivals, the Spanish press is convinced that a galactic will arrive in midfield – Vitinha, Rodri or Enzo Fernandez are among the candidates – while reinforcement is also expected in defense with several new faces who should strengthen the rearguard.

The two nuggets of the club, pending

That’s not all, since the leaders will also have to make some decisions with the goalkeeper position. If Thibaut Courtois is untouchable and he will logically still be present in the cages next season, the Lunin file is more vague according to A.S.. The Ukrainian goalkeeper, a solid understudy, could leave to finally take on the role of holder elsewhere. His future will determine that of Fran Gonzalez (20 years old), who is coming off a superb season with Real Madrid Castilla in D3, and who has the level to play higher up. In the event that Lunin leaves, he could be propelled directly as number 2 behind Courtois. But in case Lunin stays, he will probably be loaned to a first division club.

A game of musical chairs which will also have an impact on the future of Javi Navarro, the 19-year-old goalkeeper who was the main architect of the U19 team in the Youth League this season, with decisive interventions on penalties in particular. Real Madrid see him as a potential number 1 in the future and everything indicates that he will take Gonzalez’s place with Real Madrid Castilla. But if Lunin leaves, it would not be far-fetched to see him promoted to the first team fairly quickly as well. Strong decisions will therefore have to be made this summer.
