Manchester City was the victim of a topsy-turvy match this Monday on the Everton pitch, at the end of the 35e lifting of the Premier League.
Despite Doku’s opening score before the break (43e), the Skyblues had a fatal quarter of an hour of absence in the second half, surprised by a double from Barry (68e81e) and a goal from O’Brien (73e) before a reaction of pride in money time.
Haaland (83e) and Doku, him again (90e+7), allowed the Cityzens to snatch the point from the draw. A small consolation as the Gunners remain leaders this evening with a five-point lead – and one more match on the clock, of course.
Manchester City, who still have to face Brentford (7e), Crystal Palace (15e), Bournemouth (6e) and Aston Villa (5e) – with a Cup final to manage in addition against Chelsea – therefore leaves the advantage to an Arsenal team which will be dedicated in the event of a treble to come against West Ham (18e), Burnley (19e) and Crystal Palace (15e). Without forgetting of course the half return against AtlĂ©tico de Madrid and a possible Champions League final to honor.
Everton-Manchester City, the lines at kick-off
Everton’s XI: Pickford – O’Brien, Tarkovsky, Keane, Mykolinko – Iroegbunam, Garner – Rohl, Dewsbury Hall, Ndiaye – Beto.
The Manchester City eleven: Donnarumma – Nunes, Khusanov, Guéhi, O’Reilly – Nico Gonzalez, Bernardo Silva – Semenyo, Cherki, Doku – Haaland.
