PSG, a pointed attitude

The fiery reactions from the Parisian camp after the fifth goal went badly at Bayern Munich.

The first round between PSG and Bayern Munich exceeded all expectations. Presented as the final before its time, the confrontation gave rise to an orgy of football and smiles were present on both camps at the end of the meeting.

On the Parisian side, we certainly had some regrets given the scenario of the meeting. While they were obviously pleased with this victory against the Bavarian giant, Luis Enrique’s players could regret the two goals conceded while they were leading 5-2 shortly before the hour mark.

Despite the three goals behind on the scoreboard, the Bavarians never lowered their heads and the celebrations of the Parisians after the fifth goal scored by Ousmane Dembélé touched their pride. “After the 5-2, the PSG players congratulated themselves as if they had already won the title and were leaving for Budapest,” said Max Erbel, the sporting director of Bayern, after the meeting.

“A catastrophic and premature celebration of PSG”

“Coming back to score in such an atmosphere is something special for me. This is what defines the character of this team. And we’ll need it in the second leg, that’s for sure.” continued the Munich leader in the columns of Bild, who speaks of a “catastrophic and premature celebration of PSG”.

And to raise their heads, Bayern Munich was notably able to count on Manuel Neuer even though the German goalkeeper did not sign the slightest save during the entire meeting. “After this fifth goal conceded, I went to see a few players. I believed that we could still achieve something, or at least improve the result, he explained. I told them that we had to play our game, that we had to believe in it. It’s just a few words, but it’s also about body language: showing that you’re not going to collapse or give up now. »
