First of nine goals scored Tuesday evening during PSG-Bayern, the penalty scored by Harry Kane is contested by Johan Micoud.

Rarely has a football match provoked so much praise in recent times. A true offensive recital, the spectacular Champions League semi-final first leg played on Tuesday evening between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich will leave a lasting impression (5-4). Among the nine goals scored, two were from the penalty spot. And each time, criticism was expressed by observers.

This was, for example, the case at half-time of the match. Consultant on the L’Équipe channel, Johan Micoud gave his opinion on the referee’s decision to award a penalty to Luis Diaz a quarter of an hour into the game, after a supposed foul by Willian Pacho. For the former French international, Mr. Scharer and the VAR assessors should not have allowed Bayern to open the scoring.

“Me live, I think Luis Diaz is playing the penalty. He seeks contact. But afterwards, when it is reviewed by VAR, it is not swept away. For me, he makes a difference on Pacho. He’s the one who comes to tap with his foot. Afterwards, there is contact, yes, but for me it is he who comes to put a foot on the defender. » And Johan Micoud continues:
“I don’t understand why the penalty is accepted. »

PSG-Bayern, an act I of fire

The Swiss referee therefore finally awarded this famous penalty to the Munich players, and it was Harry Kane who was responsible for clinically transforming the sentence by sending a missile to the right side of the cage of Matvey Safonov, who started on the right side, but was quickly beaten.

The rest of the match went in favor of Paris Saint-Germain who ended up winning by a score of 5-4, but with a very small lead. The second and final round scheduled for Wednesday May 6 at the Allianz Arena in Munich promises to be another spectacle. At least that’s what everyone hopes.
