Rennes got the better of Nantes this Sunday as part of the 31st day of Ligue 1 (2-1).

Stade Rennais achieved an important result in more than one way this Sunday at Roazhon Park at the expense of FC Nantes, as part of the 31st act of Ligue 1.

Winners 2-1, the Bretons made the difference thanks to Lepaul (8th from the penalty spot) and Rongier (90th + 2) – the latter having crucified his training club there when the Canaries were able to come back into the game on a goal from Ganago (40th).

Rennes thus remains fifth in the elite, only one length from the podium and a direct ticket to the Champions League. At the opposite end of the ranking, Nantes, on the other hand, seems doomed.

Three days before the end of the championship, Vahid Halilhodzic’s men, 17th, are five lengths behind the Auxerre play-off. With OM and RC Lens on the program for the next two weeks.

Rennes-Nantes, the lines at kick-off

The Rennes eleven: Samba – Seidu, Aït Boudlal, Brassier, Merlin – Blas, Camara, Rongier, Al-Tamari – Embolo, Lepaul.

The Nantes eleven: Lopes – Guilbert, Yousuf, Cozza, Machado – Kaba, Sissoko, Lepenant, Leroux – Ganago, Abline.
