Antoine Griezmann has chosen to stay at Atlético de Madrid until the end of the season, despite an attractive offer from Orlando in MLS. In an interview given to Movistar+the French striker justified this choice: “I always wanted to do everything to achieve great things here. I feel very good here, on the pitch. It’s true that at the beginning, it was more difficult to manage. With work, the passion for football, things became easier, and the support of my family too”.
Concerning the derby against Real Madrid this Sunday evening, the ex-Barça player remains focused on the pleasure of playing and the club’s objectives: “I don’t really think about it. I have a lot of fun. I’m having fun, I’m playing more than at the start of the season. I savor the present moment”. The number 7 aims to win the Copa del Rey while going as far as possible in the Champions League: “We can’t choose both. You have to do both”. And for Sunday’s derby, Griezmann is confident: “a victory without conceding a goal”.
