As predicted by the Spanish media, Joan Laporta won the FC Barcelona elections hands down. The sulphurous Catalan lawyer has therefore left for five years in office. The members have therefore chosen stability, and there will therefore be no major changes within the club, since Deco will continue to be the sporting director, just as Hansi Flick will always be the team coach.

In terms of transfer window, we know that the summer will be marked by the number 9 file, since the club will have to recruit a big fish to replace Robert Lewandowski. The name of Julián Álvarez (Atlético de Madrid) comes up regularly. But before embarking on this long soap opera, the club will also try to enlist other players, and negotiations are also planned for Marcus Rashford, with a purchase option of 30 million euros that the Blaugranas want to negotiate down with Manchester United.

And that’s not all. As indicated SportJoão Cancelo has convinced everyone at Barcelona in recent weeks, with more than convincing performances, even having taken Alejandro Baldé’s place on the left side of the defense before the Spaniard’s injury. He also displays a superb understanding with many players on the team, including Raphinha, his sidemate.

FC Barcelona therefore wishes to permanently keep the Al-Hilal player, under contract until 2027. There is only one condition: the 31-year-old player must obtain the termination of his contract with the Saudi team, even if it means giving up handsome emoluments. If the Lusitanian is ready to do anything to stay in Catalonia, Al-Hilal must free him. But one thing is certain: if it is up to Barça and the main person concerned, Cancelo should be an FC Barcelona player next season.
