Vinicius Junior is a divisive player. Considered one of the best players in the world for his often special performances, the Brazilian winger is often targeted for certain provocations which are sometimes present in his game. And even if his detractors do not hesitate to attack him in stadiums and on social networks, the 25-year-old player does not lack defenders. Among these, Carlo Ancelotti figures prominently. Helping the player grow during his time on the Real Madrid bench, the Italian coach is a fan of his player, whom he found in the Brazilian selection. Asked by Marca on the prodigy trained at Flamengo, Ancelotti delivered a vibrant tribute to the latter:
“Vinicius has never disappointed in important matches. I don’t remember any semi-final or quarter-final where he made a mistake. Maybe he got frustrated in Valencia and lost his concentration, but he never did that in the crucial encounters. I am convinced that he will have an excellent World Cup if he is selected. Vinicius is Brazilian; he has the character of a Brazilian. Brazilians are happy and very humble people. I have never met an arrogant person yet, neither at the CBF nor among the Brazilians I know. Vinicius is humble, cheerful and extraordinarily talented.»
