The outgoing president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, largely won the election for the presidency of the club, receiving almost 70% of the votes against his main rival, Víctor Font. A clear success which confirms the massive support of socios for the Catalan leader. For his part, Font admitted defeat, visibly surprised by the extent of the gap, and will now have to think about the future of his alternative project for Barça.

Following the survey of TV3which already announced Laporta as the winner with around 66% of the votes, a scene quickly made the rounds on social networks. The outgoing president celebrated the trend with enthusiasm, appearing to dance before being doused with champagne by those close to him, the symbol of a victory that was already no longer in much doubt.
